A Marine Corps veteran came to the rescue of a Texas deputy who was getting pummeled by a huge, angry, violent black savage. The black has been arrested.

23-year-old Bastrop County Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Dorris was responding to a disturbance call where Kenton Desean Fryer, 32, was allegedly driving while intoxicated, and when Dorris tried to pull him over, Fryer fled to a nearby gas station, reported the Statesman.

The man then resisted arrest and that’s when the fight ensued, Deputy Dorris said.

Deputy Dorris soon found himself on his back with the huge black man on top of him, pummeling him into the ground with absolutely no regard for his life. He was like a wild animal.

Thankfully, a local Marine veteran, Scott Perkins jumped into action and stopped the savage from grabbing the deputy’s gun.

“Freeze!” Perkins yelled as he pulled out his concealed handgun, pointing it at the thug.

Perkins’ heroic actions caused the thug to run away, but he was caught and taken into custody by Dorris and another deputy.

Kenton Desean Fryer, 32, of Arkansas was arrested on a slew of charges including aggravated assault of a public servant, taking an officer’s weapon, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and driving while under the influence with a child under 15. He is in Bastrop County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Deputy Dorris credits Perkins with saving his life. “I’m alive today because of him,” Doris said. “There are no words to explain it. He’s such an outstanding citizen. He’s here for our country, our community and you really feel the love.”

Perkins’ actions were also praised by Sgt. James Davenport, who was the supervising officer at the incident, Sean Brown at Mad World News reports. At a time when anti-police sentiment is running rampant across the country, Davenport was touched by Perkins’ decision to actually help a deputy in need.

“This day and time, a lot of people would just drive by and keep going,” he said. “To see someone that will stop and help is special.”

As for Perkins, who served two tours in Iraq as a Marine, doesn’t see himself as a hero. In fact, he says he would have done the same for anyone in need.

“Anytime somebody is in need of help you should assist them,” said Perkins. “It doesn’t matter whether your life is in danger or not, you should always assist anybody who is in need.” Spoken like a true hero.

The department plans to honor Perkins with a sheriff’s commendation for his efforts to help Dorris, Bastrop County sheriff spokeswoman Sissy Jones said.

“I think it’s important to note, with the uproar that we have on gun laws, that had Mr. Perkins not had his concealed gun on him, that suspect would have likely not paid attention to him,” Jones said.

“This is a situation where being a license to carry holder truly did save a life.”

God Bless.
