CONTINUUM [Trailer] from Planetary Collective on Vimeo.
“Today we have not only an ecological crisis, we also have a story crisis. There’s something very wrong about how we understand who we are and our relationship with the earth.“
That line is from one of the many incredible interviews that is part of Continuum, a stunning feature-length documentary. Watching the awe-inspiring trailer above, I knew that Continuum is a story that needs to be told and shared.
Here’s some info about the project:
CONTINUUM is a feature length documentary telling the story of where we came from, who we are, and the possiblities of our future. The film features interviews with poets and astronauts, physicists and storytellers, anthropologists and Tibetan lamas, and stunning cinematography from around the world. The many voices of the film share a unified vision: we must start acting as a planetary civilization.
On Kickstarter, they expand on the mission of the film:
“We hope that this documentary will change the way we think as a species – to stop seeing ourselves as separate from each other, from the planet and the cosmos – and inspire us to work together to transform our planetary crises.
By weaving together perspectives and ideas from some of the key theorists and thinkers in the fields of cosmology, environmentalism, sustainability, social theory, anthropology and systems dynamics, Continuum tells the story of where we have come from, where we are now, and the possibilities for our future.”
While I am late to the party and just learning about this, thankfully enough people agree this is a story worth telling and it has reached its fundraising goal on Kickstarter, which will help fund the final edit of the film.
I can’t wait to see it when it is finished.
