Consumer Warning: Cygnett phone charger sold at JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks is urgently recalled over fire fears

The Cygnett MagMove 5K dual magnet power bank (pictured) is being urgently recalled over fears the wireless device could catch fire if it overheats

Consumers who bought the device have been urged to stop using the power bank immediately and return it to the place of purchase. 

Five models of the power bank have been affected by the issue. 

The affected models are CY456PBCHE, CY4631PBCHE, CY4615PBCHE, CY4620PBCHE, and CY4626PBCHE.

The product was sold across Australia between September 2023 and March 2024 at several major retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Telstra, Optus, and Harvey Norman. 

Jason Carrington, CEO of Cygnett told Daily Mail Australia, the move has been made to recall the phone chargers while further testing and investigations are conducted. 

‘The decision to recall the new product is not taken lightly but is seen as a necessary and responsible step in maintaining the trust and satisfaction of Cygnett’s valued customer base,’ he said. 

‘It is the first time Cygnett has recalled a power bank’.  

Cygnett, a company located in Melbourne produces a range of tech goods and accessories, including phone chargers, charging cables, and mobile phone holders.
