HOUSTON (AP) — ConocoPhillips said Tuesday that its board elected Jody Freeman as an outside director, increasing the size of the board to 10.
Freeman, 48, is the Archibald Cox Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the founding director of the Harvard Law School Environmental Law and Policy Program. She will serve on the Public Policy Committee of the ConocoPhillips board.
CEO Ryan Lance said the company is committed to the highest standards for health, safety and environmental stewardship and Freeman’s presence on the board will provide valuable perspective.
ConocoPhillips is headquartered in Houston and has operations in 29 countries. Its shares fell 85 cents to close at $53.48.
