Condusiv Technologies on Monday rolled out its latest V-locity Server optimization software designed to speed up Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange, data warehousing software and analytics applications running on physical servers.
V-locity was first launched for virtualized servers, but there enough physical systems in the field Condusiv went for physical environments too. The argument is that plenty of companies run SQL and Exchange on physical servers. V-locity optimizes I/O at the source to improve latency and eliminates what Condusiv calls the I/O blender effect.
According to Condusiv, V-locity cuts out unnecessary I/O at the operating system level when writing files. This move keeps extra compute from gobbling up memory and bandwidth. V-locity also caches frequently accessed data.
Condusiv is also promising a 25 percent performance improvement or a money-back guarantee. V-Locity Server runs on Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012. Key features include:
- Memory technology called IntelliMemory to address read request inefficiency and caches active data.
- IntelliWrite, which optimizes I/O write operations.
- A dashboard with self-auditing benchmarks to show performance gains. Condusiv is packaging proof of concept reports in a bid to get more licenses.
- Tasking technology to handle background operations without taking up resources.
