She had left for New York in an attempt to deal with the death of her husband
from luekaemia two months ago.
Mrs Moser told CBS New York: “If I had been there, I would have suggested
for her to stay with me. She was a big part of my life and I was a big aprt
of her life as well.
“It’s like I don’t have enough tears for what’s going on. It’s just
shocking, overwhelming, it’s too much.
“She was a very special girl. She was intelligent. She was a sweetheart.
“Veronica’s a Disney child. She was into her princesses and other sweet
little girl things.”
Mrs Moser added: “I love her, I miss her. I know she is with her
grandfather and I know she’s safe now.”
Veronica father Ian Sullivan also paid emotional tribute to his daughter.
He told local television station 9News: “She’s always been a free spirited
child.”
Mr Sullivan then broke down and was unable to continue.
He said Ashley Moser had a bullet lodged in her throat, but her condition in
hospital had been upgraded from critical to stable.
