A senior Israeli rabbi says Tel Aviv should execute Palestinians instead of arresting them and “leave no one alive” in order to establish safety in the occupied Palestinian territories, Palestinian media report.

“Israeli army has to stop arresting Palestinians,” Shmuel Eliyahu said in a message posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday, adding, “but, it must execute them and leave no one alive,” Palestine News Network reported.

As chief rabbi of the city of Safed, Eliyahu is known for his racist behavior and remarks about Arabs and Muslims. He had earlier urged the Israeli regime to take “revenge” against Arabs in order to restore what he called Israel’s deterrence.

He also described Palestinians as the enemy of Israel and claimed that they “must be destroyed and crushed in order to end violence.”

“If they don’t stop after we kill 100, then we must kill a thousand. And if they do not stop after 1,000, then we must kill 10,000. If they still don’t stop we must kill 100,000, even a million,” the Jerusalem Post quoted him as saying in 2007.

In 2012, he was charged for making racist statements as he called the Arab culture “cruel” and accused Arabs of having “violent norms” which “have turned into ideology.”

New evidence reveals the United States has increased its military presence in Syria and is currently expanding an airbase in the country’s Kurdish-dominated areas.

The Texas-based security analyst Stratfor on Friday posted low-resolution satellite imagery, appearing to show the construction work under way at the disused air strip in northern Syria.

The images show the runway near the town of Rmeilan located in the province of Hasakah near the border of Iraq and Turkey being extended from 700 meters (half a mile) to 1.3 kilometers.

According to Stratfor the “imagery supports claims of US military activity in Syria.”

On Wednesday, the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said the US military had taken control of the Rmeilan airstrip to support Kurdish fighters against the Daesh terrorist group.

The airstrip was previously controlled by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Saudi Arabia now sees Tel Aviv “as an ally rather as an enemy” as he claims “a great shift taking place” in the Arab policy toward the Palestinian issue.

“Saudi Arabia recognizes that Israel is an ally rather than an enemy because of the two principle threats that threaten them, Iran and Daesh,” he told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos Friday.

Both Saudi Arabia and Israel are fiercely opposed to a nuclear accord between Iran and the West which came into force recently. They are worried the agreement could boost Iran’s role in the region.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel was actively seeking to strengthen ties with Arab powers in the wake of the nuclear deal with Iran.

Daesh ideology is rooted in Wahhabism which is widely promoted by Saudi clerics and tolerated by the kingdom’s rulers. Both Saudi Arabia and Israel support Takfiri groups fighting in Syria. Meanwhile, there is no known case of a Daesh attack on either Saudi or Israeli targets.

Netanyahu also said “there is a great shift taking place” in the Saudi-led policy toward the Palestinian issue, citing Israel’s “relationships” with unknown Arab states.

(JTA) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended his defense minister’s decision to force settlers from two newly occupied homes in the flashpoint West Bank city of Hebron.

After numerous right-wing politicians fiercely criticized Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon on Friday, Netanyahu reiterated his support for settlements and admiration of settlers, but said, “We are all bound to respect the law,” the Times of Israel reported, citing Channel 10.

Israeli troops on Friday morning removed several dozen settlers from the adjacent Hebron buildings, which the settlers had entered the previous day, saying they had bought them from Palestinians. Yaalon, a member of Netanyahu’s Likud party, said the settlers had not received IDF authorization to enter the buildings and were there illegally.

(JTA) — Hundreds of protesters sought to disrupt a Shabbat service and reception for Jewish participants at a gay activism conference in Chicago.

Chanting “Hey hey, ho ho, pinkwashing has got to go,” the protesters streamed through the Hilton Chicago on Friday night toward the service hosted by A Wider Bridge, a Jewish LGBTQ organization that seeks to build ties between gay communities in North America and Israel.

Pinkwashing is the term used to described alleged efforts by Israel to cover up its treatment of Palestinians by touting its record on gay rights.

The program, which featured members of Jerusalem Open House, a gay activist organization based in the Israeli capital, had earlier been canceled by The National LGBTQ Task Force, which organizes the Creating Change conference. The organization later reversed its decision.
