An unfortunate tragedy has struck the nation: At an Aurora, Colorado midnight showing of the eagerly awaited Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, a gunman identified as James Holmes opened fire on the audience, killing at least 12 and wounding 50.
Not long after the shooting, eyewitness video from the event surfaced on YouTube. The video is a bit chaotic and frenzied, but perhaps that correctly captures the event which unfolded around the citizen journalist.
In addition to the YouTube coverage, a number of moviegoers took to Twitter to share information about the attack while fleeing the scene and trying to make sense of the disaster unfolding around them.
