nsnbc : Adem Karadag, on f the Chinese Uighur accused of involvement in the bombing at the Erawan Shrine that killed 20 and injured another 120 appeared in court in Thailand’s capital Bangkok. The prosecution states that CCTV footage shows that Karadag left a backpack and went away shortly before the explosion. Chinese Muslim Uighur “rebels” are known for having close ties to Turkey’s Grey Wolves, an organization linked to terror networks associated with Turkish and NATO intelligence.
Adem Karadag is one of two Uighur Muslims from China who is implicated in a bombing at the Erawan Shrine in Thailand’s capital Bangkok on August 17, 2015. Karadag appeared in court on Tuesday.
Eying his chance and the press while being walked into court, Karadag shouted “I am not an animal, I’m human, I’m human”.
Bangkok police and the office of the prosecutor, however, stated that CCTV footage presented into evidence, shows that Adam Karadag unstrapped a backpack, placed it, and left the scene of the crime shortly before the explosion that killed 20 and left another 120 injured.
Several analysts, diplomats and officials claimed that the bombing happened in retaliation for the deportation of some 100 Uighur to China the month prior to the bombing.
Especially western media outlets were keen to stress that “the Thai Junta” had deported the Muslim Uighur. Thai authorities, for their part, stressed that the deportation was necessary because those who were deported were linked to human traffickers who trafficked people from China’s western Xinjiang province to Thailand.
Both Karadag and his co-defendant Yusufu Mieriali deny that they have anything to do with the bombing. Karadag’s lawyer, Schoochart Kanpai said he hoped the trial would be over by the end of 2016. He added, however, that the trial could last longer and that some 250 witnesses could be called by the prosecution and the defense.
Thai police also issued arrest warrants for 15 other people, eight of whom are thought to be either Turkish or in Turkey. Uighur in China’s Xinjiang province speak the Turcic language locally and are culturally linked to Turkmen or Turkish people.
Several Uighur Muslim networks in China’s Xinjiang province have been linked to Turkish organizations, including Turkey’s notorious “Grey Wolves“. The Grey wolves have, according to several analysts, including senior, retired Turkish military and military intelligence staff, close ties to Turkey’s intelligence service MIT, Turkish military intelligence as well as to NATO intelligence networks.
It worth noting that Turkey is one of the world’s main State sponsors of terrorism. The list of organizations sponsored or covered by Turkish intelligence covers, among others, parts of the self-proclaimed Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, Turkmen “rebels” in northern Syria, Boko Haram in Nigeria, Jabhat Al-Nusrah in Syria, and a cohort of other, often Muslim Brotherhood associated terrorist and mercenary networks.
