Speaking at a press conference in Beijing on Monday, Liu said dialogue and cooperation can promote the peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear energy issue.
Upon returning to Vienna from his visit to Iran on May 22, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said the agency would soon sign an agreement with Iran aimed at resolving issues related to the country’s nuclear energy program.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman further referred to the recent talks between Iran and the so-called six world powers and said both sides held serious discussions in Baghdad as differences and common ground both exist.
Iran and the P5+1- Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany – held three sessions of plenary talks in Baghdad on May 23 and 24 after an earlier round of negotiations in the Turkish city of Istanbul in mid-April.
The two sides agreed to hold another round of talks in Moscow on June 18 and 19.
