A MAN being questioned over the death of a baby girl in Sydney has been charged with unrelated domestic assault offences.
The 25-year-old was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and interviewed over the death of the five-month-old.
The infant died after being found unconscious on the lounge room floor of her Villawood home on Monday, following a triple-zero call from her mother.
The girl’s father and her four young siblings were also at home at the time.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate the infant, but she was pronounced dead after being taken to Liverpool Hospital.
The man’s been charged with four assault charges and will appear in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.
The charges are unrelated to the baby’s death, police say.
