The father of murdered teenager Jessie Cate has died after a caravan park fight – rocking the family for the second time in six months.
A CHARGE against the man accused of killing the father of murdered teen Jessie Cate in a caravan park fight has been upgraded to murder.
Paul Cate, 46, died in Fremantle Hospital from injuries allegedly inflicted during a fight with a neighbour at Dawesville Caravan Park about 8.30pm on May 31.
Dawesville man Timothy Skipper, 41, was charged with causing Mr Cate grievous bodily harm but that charge was upgraded to murder during a Perth Magistrates Court hearing today, according to PerthNow.
Police allege Mr Cate died from injuries inflicted during the fight with Mr Skipper. It is not known what caused the confrontation, which took place a day after Pinjarra man Kyle Rohan Garth pleaded guilty to murdering Mr Cate’s 15-year-old daughter.
Ms Cate’s mother, Judy, said earlier this month the death of her ex-husband came as a tragic “double blow” to the family. Read more
