Canada subway maps turned into Nintendo works of art

Even if you don’t live in one of the cities, these would make great wall art

Subway maps aren’t typically anything impressive in terms of their artistic quality, but then there’s never been a subway map quite like these. Dave Delisle of the website Dave’s Geeky Ideas has crafted subway maps of Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary suitable to hang on your own wall, regardless of where you live — especially if you enjoy some vintage gaming flair.

Made to look just like a level map from Super Mario Bros 3, the map contains all the information you need to navigate the subterranean railways of Canada’s largest cities, with all the super retro style of an 8-bit NES title. Each stop on the route is shown with a level icon, with castles showing transfer stations and end-line locations.

You can purchase the fantastic maps from Dave’s store, and even get them framed and sent to you in all their high-resolution glory. Personally, we wouldn’t mind seeing his take on some U.S. locations. The maze of tunnels below New York City would certainly look stunning if rendered with a little Mario flavor.
