A bystander rescued a man trapped in a burning house in north Queensland on Wednesday morning.
The bystander pulled the 38-year-old occupant from the single storey house in Kennedy St, Bowen, before fire crews arrived, the Department of Community Safety said.
The fire started around 4am (AEST) and it took five fire crews an hour to bring the blaze, which severely damaged two rooms, under control.
The occupant suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Bowen Hospital for treatment.
The fire is being investigated.
