Brits to protest massacre in Afghanistan

Britain’s leading anti-war campaign, Stop the War Coalition, has called upon protesters to hold a rally at 5:30pm outside Waterstone’s near the Bullring in Birmingham urging an end to “the killing in Afghanistan.”

The protesters demand an immediate withdrawal of the British troops from Afghanistan, earlier than British Prime Minister David Cameron’s exit date of 2014.

On Sunday 11 March, at least one US soldier killed 16 Afghan civilians including women and nine children.

Earlier this week, Cameron admitted that British people did “want an endgame” in Afghanistan as he claimed that the occupying forces could be withdrawn from Afghanistan in 2014.

However, Cameron warned that Afghanistan would be left without a “perfect democracy” when the occupying forces are withdrawn from the country in 2014.

“I accept it won’t be a perfect democracy. There will be huge development problems,” said Cameron on board his chartered plane to Washington.

This comes as peace activists in Britain have repeatedly criticised the situation created by the occupying forces in Afghanistan.

Speaking with Russia’s English news channel Russia Today, British MP Jeremy Corbyn clearly said: “There is no record of NATO bombs bringing about peace and democracy anywhere.”

Corbyn also called for the immediate withdrawal of the British occupying forces saying “it is time to go and not wait until 2014.”
