FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Al-Shalabi, 30, who has been on hunger strike for about two weeks, was re-arrested by the Israeli forces earlier this month and is held in administrative detention, where the Israeli forces could detain people indefinitely, without charging them or putting them on trial.
Al-Shalabi was formerly detained and held in Israel’s administrative detention, but was released during the first phase of the Hamas-led prisoner swap deal, whereby 1027 Palestinian prisoners were freed from Israeli jails in exchange for a captured Israeli soldier.
Addameer, a Palestinian organisation to support Palestinian political prisoners, revealed that Hana was subjected to sexual abuse and physical violence while being interrogated.
FOA has called on the concerned British nationals to write to the Foreign Secretary and urged him to formally condemn the administrative detention and call for the immediate end of its use by Israel.
Some 309 Palestinian prisoners are being held indefinitely in Israel’s illegal administrative detention. Their harsh situation has recently been brought to light by another Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan. He was arrested by occupation soldiers last December and went on hunger strike to protest against his unlawful arrest.
According to article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Israel’s “administrative detention” is an apparent violation of international human rights, since the article says that no individual should be “subjected to arbitrary arrest or detention.”
