British mother of four ‘ran Manhattan brothel for rich and powerful’

Mrs Gristina was arrested last month as she met a financier friend who works
for JP Morgan bank on Madison Avenue allegedly to discuss a new project. She
is charged with third degree prostitution. At a hearing at Manhattan’s
Supreme Court, assistant district attorney Charles Linehan opposed an
application for the bail sum to be reduced, saying that she had well-heeled “friends
and clients” who could help her flee the country with the help of her
British passport.

Prosecutors disclosed that Mrs Gristina had previously left the country when
she feared arrest, buying an apartment in Montreal during another
prostitution investigation five years ago which led to the exposure of
Elliot Spitzer, a leading politician, as a user of call girls.

Outside court, Mrs Gristina’s lawyer, Peter Gleason, said: “To speak
about the defendant is to speak about an individual who is a caring, loving
mother. Her spirits are very high, she is looking forward to a speedy
resolution of this matter. I am quite impressed by her spirit.”

Mrs Gristina’s second husband, Kelvin Gorr, whom she married 10 years ago,
said he was “heartbroken” by his wife’s arrest.

Friends said that Mrs Gristina moved to the US from the Highlands as a
teenager, before marrying Italian-born Dario Gristina. After their divorce,
he remarried and is currently running as a Republican to sit in the New York
State Assembly.

Authorities are reported to be investigating links between the alleged
millionaire madam and a glamorous recruiter who worked for an exclusive
dating service which matches wealthy men with high caliber dates.

Jaynie Mae Baker, 30, is employed as a contractor by VIP Life, which has a
select client base of around 30 men at a time, who pay high fees to be
matched with “beautiful, engaging women”.
