Richard Mungai, a Mombasa police spokesman, said that medical staff failed to
resuscitate him after he fell unconscious at the Kwale District Hospital.
“We took him to the hospital and he died in the hands of the doctors,”
Mr Mungai said. Managers at the hospital would not comment on the incident.
The man is understood to have arrived in Kenya on April 23 and was due to
return to Britain on July 10.
The British Foreign Office confirmed they were aware of the incident.
A spokesman said: “We are aware of the death of a British national in
Kenya and have been providing consular assistance to his family.”
