Two children have suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a car at Athol Park in Adelaide’s north-west last night.

Police say the boys, aged 11 and 13, were walking across Hanson Road at pedestrian lights when they were struck by a Mercedes Benz travelling north at 9:55pm (ACDT).

The 13-year-old is in a critical condition in the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The 11-year-old is in a serious but stable condition in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Police have spoken to the driver.

They want anyone who witnessed the accident, saw the car beforehand or a Red Holden Commodore that stopped at the scene, to contact them.
