A 16-year-old boy has been questioned over a grassfire that threatened the regional city of Ararat in western Victoria over the weekend.
Police say the Ararat teenager was arrested on Saturday night and released pending further enquiries.
More than 300 firefighters and four water bombing aircraft battled the blaze that swept through 800 hectares of land.
The fire broke out a few kilometres northeast of Ararat and was finally brought under control around 5.30pm (AEDT) on Sunday.
It was slow moving but at one stage it threatened six properties.
The Pyrenees Highway was closed at one stage and residents were warned to activate their bushfire survival plans.
