The incident occurred on Tuesday when an improvised explosive device (IED) ripped through a minibus carrying civilians in Sayed Abad district, killing five civilians, including women and children.
“A mine planted by the enemies of Afghanistan detonated under a civilian minibus. Five civilians including women and children have been killed. Two others are injured,” a provincial government spokesman said.
Hospital sources, however, said 6 people were killed in the attack.
However, several other passengers survived the attack.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing.
In a similar roadside bomb attack on Monday, five other people were killed in northern Afghanistan. Earlier, 23 more people lost their lives in another militant attack before south of the war-ravaged country.
IEDs are by far the most lethal weapon Taliban militants have used against Afghan forces, foreign troops, and civilians in recent years.
