Queensland Premier Anna Bligh is expected to spend Wednesday morning campaigning in Brisbane before departing for regional Queensland.
Former lord mayor and LNP leader Campbell Newman, who made a brief appearance at a Brisbane City Council meeting on Tuesday night, will make a frontline services policy announcement in Brisbane on Wednesday.
He will then door-knock in the electorate of Ashgrove, which he must win at the March 24 election to enter state politics.
If he fails to win, but the LNP claims government, the party would have to select a new leader.
LNP President Bruce McIver says there’s no “Plan B” if Mr Newman fails to orchestrate a swing of more than seven per cent against Labor’s Kate Jones.
The LNP launches its formal election campaign on Sunday.
