Biomarkers Help Predict COPD Prognosis
MedPage Today – A panel of biomarkers can improve mortality predictions in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), researchers reported. In a prospective study, the seven biomarkers — all involved with inflammation — were each associated with an increased risk of death in COPD patients, according to Bartolome Celli, MD, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and colleagues.
