Bikie associates arrested over shooting

Two Hells Angels bikie associates have been charged over a shooting in Sydney’s west.

A number of shots were fired into two units on Oxford St, Merrylands, just after midnight (AEST) on Tuesday.

Four men escaped the scene in a white car but were chased by officers in a nearby highway patrol vehicle.

The pursuit came to an abrupt end when the police car and the offenders’ vehicle collided on Edgar Buggy St and the occupants fled on foot.

Police helicopters and officers with dogs hit the streets in search of the occupants but failed to locate the offenders.

Detectives raided two homes in Guildford and Ryde, both in the city’s west, during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

They arrested a 20-year-old Hells Angels bikie associate at the Guildford property and charged him with firing at the unit block.

He was refused bail and is due at Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the Ryde home and was charged with firing at the building, possession of ecstasy and possession of ammunition.

He too is said to have links with the Hells Angels.
