It’s envelope time, when we reveal the Best of Green in Design for 2012.
It has been a conspicuously difficult year in design and architecture; I really wanted to give an award to the Unemployed Architect, the lost generation of graduates who are out looking for work. So this year we have avoided giving awards to firms and designers, and have concentrated on results.
As editor of Design, I was thrilled to see how closely the Readers’ Choice and my own matched; even in the two cases where our choices diverge, it was for a very particular reason rather than any serious disagreement. Thank you to everyone who voted.
