A group of balaclava-clad men with a shortened firearm have invaded a home in Sydney’s northwest.
The three men allegedly forced their way through the back door of a home in Gammell Street, Rydalmere at 3.30am (AEDT) on Tuesday.
They threatened the people in the home and demanded cash, police said.
But a struggle broke out and the would-be robbers ran from the home empty-handed.
A 26-year-old man has sustained facial injuries, while two women aged 28 and 63, and two girls and a boy, believed to be primary school-aged, were shaken but not physically injured.
Police are investigating the incident and are asking any possible witnesses to call Rosehill Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
