Bahraini forces raid houses in Sitra

A number of people were also injured when the Manama regime forces attacked homes in Sitra on Monday.

Meanwhile, police used tear gas, rubber bullets and sound grenades to disperse protesters in several other towns and villages.

The latest crackdown on peaceful protests in Bahrain came a few days after the Bahraini court of appeals sentenced nine doctors to up to five years in prison over charges of involvement in demonstrations against the Al Khalifa regime.

The court on June 14 also acquitted nine other medical personnel.

The 18 Bahraini medical personnel are among the 20 accused doctors and nurses from the Salmaniya Medical Complex in the capital, Manama, which was stormed by regime forces in March 2011.

Bahraini judicial sources said two other personnel from the group remain at large.

Anti-government protests continue in Bahrain despite the regime’s violent crackdown.

An 80-year-old Bahraini female was the latest victim who died due to the inhalation of toxic tear gas fired by the security forces several days ago.

Bahraini demonstrators hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the killing of protesters during the uprising that began in February 2011.
