Baby feared drowned in Qld river

A six-month-old boy is feared dead after he and a man fell into a river in southeast Queensland.

The 34-year-old man and the boy were walking along the bank of the Logan River near Beenleigh, south of Brisbane, on Saturday night when they fell in.

Police say the man managed to swim to safety but the child is still missing.

Brisbane and Gold Coast water police are searching the river and its banks, but have grave concerns for the safety of the infant.
