Abdolvahab’s production won the festival’s award for Best Feature during a ceremony held in Sidney.
The film is set in contemporary Tehran and portrays the city life in three distinctive episodes of sentiment, sensitivity and wit.
Written by Abdolvahab, the 80- minute film has been critically acclaimed and won many awards, including the Silver Award of the 18th Damascus International Film Festival.
It was premiered at the 28th Fajr International Film Festival, and was internationally released in 2010 at 15th Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea.
The 4-day PFF created a unique local showcase for films from Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, the three countries that share the same language, history and heritage.
The first PFF also paid tribute to Iranian Academy Award winner Asghar Farhadi by screening a short documentary about the production stages of his award-sweeper movie A Separation.
The PFF’s tribute to Farhadi will continue with monthly screenings of his previous works including About Elly.
Farhadi’s Oscar winning A Separation is set to be released in Australia on March 1, 2012.
