Australia: Federal Budget surplus a charade, says Tony Abbott
AAP – Opposition Leader Tony Abbott says the Federal Government’s forecast surplus of $1.5 billion is a charade that even Treasurer Wayne Swan doubts can be delivered. He said Mr Swan failed to mention in his budget speech last night that the Commonwealth had increased its debt ceiling to $300 billion. “It increases Australia’s credit card limit by $50 billion,” Mr Abbott told the Nine Network today.
