Leftist protestors stormed a government building in Minnesota on Monday, lowering and partially burning an American flag before hoisting an Antifa flag in its place, according to reports.
The Antifa squad had been marching through downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota in response to the weekend’s demonstration in Charlottesville, Virginia, and clapped and cheered when the Antifa flag was raised in place of the traditional flag in front of the county government’s headquarters.
The flag was swapped with Antifa’s flag, a spokeswoman for the county confirmed to CNSNews.com, and the event was caught on camera by a woman in the crowd, who posted the footage on Twitter.

“Protesters gathered outside the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility. I do not know any specifics. I do know at some point the flag was taken down, damaged and the other flag went up,” said the county’s spokeswoman. “This lasted for under 30 minutes at which time we replaced the flag with a new one.”
“We do not condone the actions taken Monday,” she continued. When asked whether the county flag was flying once again, she said yes, noting that “It is my understanding they partially burned [the county flag]. It was no longer usable.”
If you are wondering what the Antifa flag represents, it’s worth looking into its history. The flag is based on the 1932 flag of the paramilitary wing of the Communist Party of Germany.
The government spokeswoman says although the county condemned the actions by Antifa, police did not make any arrests.
“Last night, protesters removed/burned a county flag at the jail & replaced with a flag of their own. We removed it as soon as we were able,” the county tweeted about the incident Tuesday.
The news out of Minnesota comes as leftists in California have begun desecrating gravesite belonging to civil war veterans, demanding that cemeteries remove memorials to fallen Confederate soldiers.
The Times reports that the granite monument marking the burial site was vandalized on Tuesday:
“Since 1925, the 6-foot monument has stood in the Confederate section of the cemetery, where more than 30 Confederate veterans, along with their families, are buried. The monument will be taken to a storage site within the next 24 hours, cemetery officials said, but the grave markers will remain.
This week, Hollywood Forever was fielding as many as 60 calls and emails a day from people requesting the cemetery get rid of the monument, said Tyler Cassity, the cemetery’s president and co-owner. A Change.org petition calling for its removal drew more than 1,300 signatures.
On Tuesday, someone vandalized the granite boulder monument, Cassity said.“
