“Today is the era of Islamic Awakening and any confrontation with values and interests of the Muslim Ummah will be faced with the serious reaction of the world’s Muslims and will be costly for its agents,” Jalili said in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Ankara on Monday.
Jalili pointed to the Muslim nations’ uprisings against the US and the Zionist regime of Israel and added that all independent and Muslim countries are duty-bound to take advantage of the Islamic Awakening in order to confront the enemies of the Muslim world in political and international arenas.
The SNSC secretary noted that strategic ties between Tehran and Ankara can help governments arising from the Islamic Awakening to play an effective role in international relations.
The Turkish foreign minister, for his part, stressed the importance of bolstering bilateral strategic relations between the two countries.
Heading a delegation, Jalili arrived in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Monday to hold talks with senior officials of the country.
The Iranian official is scheduled to meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.
