Anne Sinclair’s resilience made me give her new job, says Arianna Huffington

The millionaire said she that “men are much better at coming back than women”
and that she had “many defeats”, including an unsuccessful run at being
governor of California and having her second book rejected by 36 publishers.

Miss Sinclair was recently named France’s
Woman of the Year in a poll for a French magazine for her “loyalty and
courage” in sticking by her man.

But there has been controversy in France over Miss Sinclair’s new editorial
post in the likely event the site covers news about her husband, to whom the
millionaire heiress has offered staunch moral and financial support.

“She is no longer a journalist She is an interested party,” a writer at Le
Monde said Once tipped to become the next French president, Mr Strauss-Kahn
resigned as head of the International Monetary Fund after his arrest last
May over the alleged rape of a New York hotel maid. Criminal charges were
dropped but a civil case is pending.

Mr Strauss-Kahn’s name has also been linked to a prostitution ring operating
out of a luxury hotel in Lille. He is expected to be questioned over the
so-called “Hotel Carlton affair” in the coming weeks.

The 62-year-old has been cleared of rape charges in the US and France but has
been cited in a criminal investigation into a prostitution network But Miss
Sinclair said today: “Any important news will be covered normally.

What should be on the front page will be on the front page. I don’t think (my
husband) will make up most of the news for 2012 but if it were the case we
would cover it.”

Miss Huffington did not rule out Mr Strauss-Kahn making guest blog
appearances. “I think that would be very interested. I’m going to invite
him,” she said.

In an interview in Elle magazine last week, Miss Sinclair hit back at those
who said she should have left her philandering husband.

“I am neither a saint, nor a victim. I am a free woman,” she said.

“No one knows what happens in the privacy of a couple and I refuse anyone the
right to judge mine. I feel free to take my own decisions and decide on my
own actions. I decide on my own life.”
