The Republican National Committee has called on American voters to stop Hillary Clinton from running for president in the 2016 presidential election.
In a new video footage, the RNC warned that electing Clinton would give US President Barack Obama a third term in office.
The video began with a clip from 2008 when Obama and Clinton held a joint rally in the town of Unity, N.H., to mark the end of their Democratic primary contest, The Hill reported.
“You know, Hillary and I, we’re buddies,” President Obama said in another part of the footage that was from an interview with ABC News last month.
The web video ends with the text, “Hillary, Obama’s third term,” followed by “Stop Hillary.”
The former secretary of state has not officially announced her bid for the presidential post yet.
When asked about seeking the Democratic nomination for president, Clinton did not reject the idea in March.
“I am thinking about it,” she said. “I’m not going to make a decision for awhile, because I’m actually enjoying my life.”
A poll conducted by Fox News showed in April Hillary Clinton’s approval ratings hitting their lowest point in six years.
According to the survey, 49 percent of Americans view Clinton favorably, while 45 percent see her unfavorably.
This is the first time the former secretary of state’s approval rating has dropped below 50 percent in a Fox survey since April 2008.
