A search has been mounted for a man missing for nearly 24 hours in the state’s north.
Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said the 24-year-old man had been missing near Pannawonica in the Pilbara since last night.
The man left a property in Pannawonica about 9pm last night on a quad bike. The man was believed to have been drinking prior to leaving on thebike.
Those searching are believed to be following his footprints through the dirt, after locating the man’s quad bike earlier today on the banks of the Robe River.
Ms Usher said the man was only wearing board shorts and thongs, and was not believed to be wearing a helmet.
Volunteers searched for the man until about 1am today, resuming again at first light.
State Emergency Services personnel from Karratha arrived in Pannawonica this morning to assist in a land and air search efforts.
