A 22-year-old Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) cadet from Singapore has been found guilty of an act of indecency against a fellow cadet.
Yong Benedict Ang was accused of entering the woman’s room in May last year and forcing her to kiss him, at one point putting his hand over her nose to force her mouth open.
Ang maintained he only kissed the woman once and it was consensual, and he left when she asked him to go.
The jury found him guilty of committing an act of indecency on the woman.
It dismissed a second accusation that he had undone her bra and touched her inappropriately.
Ang, who was a member of the Singaporean navy at the time of the offence, will be sentenced at the end of next month.
