Police have arrested a man suspected of beating a Jewish man along with several others outside a synagogue in Paris, according to police reports from Paris, France.
The French authorities have arrested a suspect they believe was involved in an attack on a Jewish man outside a synagogue in Paris in an attack that shook up the local Jewish community.
According to press reports the man and three other suspects assaulted the 47-year-old victim as he left the synagogue. The allegedly threw him to the ground and continued to beat him while he was down.
The attackers fled the scene soon after.
Despite the fact that the attack occurred just outside the synagogue, French authorities have not yet determined whether the attack was anti-Semitic.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack may have been interrupted by French police officers were stationed outside of the synagogue after frequent attacks against Jewish institutions and individuals in and around Paris.
