Marjan Ashrafizadeh’s Wet Letters swept this year’s awards, receiving prizes in six categories.
The family drama won the Best Film award of the event and the Best Director award for Ashrafizadeh. The Best Actress Award went to Maosumeh Qasemipour for her performance in the same film.
Sina Ganjavi won the Best Editing Award and Ramin Abossedq was granted the Best Sound Recording Award for their contributions to Ashrafizadeh’s Wet Letters.
The Best Actor Award went to Dariush Arjmand for his performance in Loose Talk and Aida Panahandeh and Arsalan Amiri won the festival’s Best Screenwriter Award for The Lost Honor of Mr. Sadeqi.
Ghaffar Rezaei won the Best Costume and the Best Stage Designer awards for Loose Talk, while Saeed Ansari received the Best Composer Award for Staying or Going: A Dilemma.
Mohammad Nasseri won the Best Cinematographer Award for No. 7.
This year’s Tehran International Video Film Festival screened productions from Iran and other countries including Hungary, Germany, India, the UK, Lebanon, Argentina, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco.
The selection committee of this year’s festival is composed of Iranian cineastes Farzad Motamen, Morteza Razzaq-Karimi and Abbas Akbari.
Organized by Iran’s Visual Media Institute and the Iran Cinema Organization, the 2012 TIVFF was held from June 17 to 22.
