On Friday morning, a remote-controlled roadside bomb ripped through a military vehicle, killing two Turkish soldiers near the town of Lice in Diyarbakir province, and militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are the main suspects, Reuters reported.
Another soldier and one civilian were also injured in the attack.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by much of the international community, including Turkey, Iran, the United States, and European Union member states.
Over 40,000 people have lost their lives since the PKK launched its armed campaign against Ankara in 1984.
