They sleep on Egyptian cotton, eat home-cooked organic meals and have £15,000 spent on their clothes and toys every year.

For these six very pampered bulldogs, it’s anything but a dog’s life – and Christmas Day, of course, is no exception.

Karen Chamberlain’s beloved ‘fur babies’ woke up to piles of presents, including a £100 bed, a £35 tracksuit and a £25 jacket for each of them.

These will soon find their way into a canine wardrobe that’s already stuffed with tutus, diamante collars, tiaras, fairy wings, leather jackets and dresses.

Miss Chamberlain spends  a further £3,000 a year on the highest quality organic food for Lady Lola, nine, Princess Tia, six, Baby Gracie, three, and 18-month-old triplets Angel Star, Scarlet Sky and Lil Belle – as well as buying hundreds of pounds of vitamins to keep them healthy.

The 50-year-old businesswoman, who lives with partner Peter Dowling, 49, in Ashford, Kent, said:  ‘I don’t have any kids so  I spoil my bulldogs rotten. They are like children  to me. I call them my  fur babies.

‘When Pete goes to work at 5.30 each morning the dogs run into my room and get into bed with me.

‘I have to have a low bed because Lady Lola is getting on a bit now and would struggle to get on to a high bed.

‘Later I’ll let them watch TV for an hour while I wash their faces and clean their teeth.

‘I shampoo their coats to get them looking their best before they go for a walk.’

Miss Chamberlain, who has even had her beloved dogs christened, added: ‘Sometimes Pete gets a bit jealous.

‘On a night when I’ve given the girls organic chicken breasts for dinner Pete has said to me, what’s that in their bowl, why have I got mince?’

Miss Chamberlain spends hours preparing two daily meals of lamb, chicken, salmon or tuna fillets for her pampered pets, topped off with fresh broccoli, cabbage, carrots, natural yoghurt and organic honey.

She added: ‘In some ways they eat better than me.’

Yes, because I’m sure these poor dogs love being dressed up in bright pink tu-tus, feather boas, fairy wings and tiaras. Some people!

Oh for goodness sake people, she and her husband work hard so who the hell are we to say she can’t spend her money in any way she wants!?! I’m the proud owner of a British bulldog and if I didn’t have children, finances allowing, I’d spoil him rotten too. Leave well alone you grumpy buggers!

Oh dear….more money than sense! And that is from a dog lover!!!

something is severely lacking in this person’s life. How about doing something for your fellow man -adopt a child and give it a proper future by paying for it’s education – that gift can be passed on to future generations of that child!!

This is a bit O T T eh, I,m a dog lover ,but I would never put my dogs in dresses, how ridiculous !!! ,their neighbours must be laughing their socks off, and regarding their ” food ” it,s obvious her husband is well down the list in the pecking order !! I was wondering what she gave them for Christmas lunch ?? Turkey with all the trimmings or T Bone steak ?????

The 2 at the end of the sofa are obviously used to posing. Say cheeeeeese.

I thought my beagle pup had it good by being allowed to sleep in my bed, but this woman takes it to a whole new level

Those dogs do NOT need all that tat and junk. Home-cooked organic food, great….. that’s a really nice thing to do for a dog. Those breed of dogs DO NOT NEED CLOTHING to keep warm – least of all ‘tutu’ skirts. It is abusive to an animal to do this to them. If this lady is reading the comments ~ please, I beg you, keep up the great diet, love your dogs, but don’t spend this insane money on stuff that isn’t supposed to be on their bodies. PLEASE, if you care for dogs, which you clearly do, donate to the RSPCA or the PDSA who rescue and treat severely neglected and abused animals.

They would all look better if they were painted.

Oh come on DM this story is old we had virtually the same story months ago. and as I said then gorgeous dogs and who is this lady hurting by spending here own money to do as she wants with her dogs! You cannot deny that they are extremely well looked after! I have a bulldog and whilst she isnt treated like those above she is treated well though others might say she is spoilt!! But we dont have children so why cant we spoil our dog if we want to? Rather a spoilt pet than a spoilt child anyday!!
