10s arrested in Occupy London eviction

According to some of the protesters, British police have formed “a kettle” at Millenium Bridge in a bid to prevent hundreds of supports trying to get to the area.

Tents and campaign signs were loaded into rubbish lorries and the wooden pallet barricade was removed with Chainsaws in the eviction process.

Calling for international solidarity actions against the UK embassies around the world, The Occupy group created a map of visitors to the St Paul’s camp, showing support from all over the world in the last 100 days.

Staging a march from St Paul’s, going back at the steps of the cathedral tomorrow morning to start again from scratch, and moving the St Paul’s camp to Finsbury Square are among the suggestions made by anti-capitalist protestors to continue the movement.

Kai Wargalia, a spokesman for the Occupy movement, insisted that the eviction isn’t the end for Occupy movement, adding, “It’s really sad what’s happening today but I think we can be proud of what we’ve achieved. Our community is being attacked here, but we’re going to reconvene and come back stronger. We’re going to think about our strategy and tactics and it’s going to be an interesting time.”

After the City of London Corporation won its case at the High Court to evict the protesters and their occupation camps from the churchyard, Occupy London demonstrators appealed against the ruling but the British court rejected their bid to challenge an expulsion order.

Occupy London protest has begun since October 15 in a bid to express oppositions against capitalism, social inequality, unemployment and the gap between rich and poor. The move was inspired by the occupy Wall Street movement in the US, which emerged in September 2011 opposing the unjust distribution of wealth and the excessive influence of big corporations on US policies.
