London dazzled the world Friday night with opening ceremony festivities filled with whimsy, fireworks and all things British. Oscar-winning director and ceremony designer Danny Boyle created a trippy mashup of pop culture with readings from J.K. Rowling and Kenneth Branagh, along with a towering inflatable Voldemort surrounded by a wave of floating aerialists dressed like Mary Poppins.
While Boyle managed to cram in a slew of icons from the host nation into the Olympics kickoff bash, we can’t help but notice he missed a few folks who could have added a little something to the event.
